JICHIRO held its Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Conference on February 5 and 6 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. 533 people attended from across the country.
On the first day, addressing the entire meeting, Kaneta Fumio, JICHIRO General Secretary said “the Shunto Spring Labour Offensive activities will be very important in the lead-up to the OHS month long campaign in July. I hope that this meeting will yield solid results as we work towards creating a workplace where we can continue to work in a secure and safe environment.” Following this was a keynote address by Nishida Kazumi, Deputy Director of the JICHIRO Wage/Conditions Department and freelance TV announcer Kajiwara Shigeru entitled “Communication skills for the workplace.” Reports on activities in each region followed.
On the second day of the conference, seven break-out groups were held on topics such as revitalizing OHS, fire-prevention, mental health, overwork and health, harassment and so on. An action plan was made which will form the OHS benchmarks for the future.
